Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries Costume exhibition.
Rippon Lea House and Gardens, Elsternwick
September 7 - 27 October 2013
Spent the afternoon at the beautiful Rippon Lea estate yesterday with dear husband where we were transported back to 1920s Melbourne for the Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries costume exhibition. What a delight! The exhibition features over 30 lavish, and exquisitely crafted costumes worn by Essie Davis as Miss Fisher from series 1 and 2 as well as a handful of garments worn by other cast members.
Hats, jewellery, handbags are also on display but it really is all about the costumes and costume designer Marion Boyce has brilliantly captured 1920s fashion that looks as fresh and modern today as it would have back then. A definite must see on your calendar if you are fan of the popular tv show or just love fashion….and the best bit is that you can actually dress up in 20s costumes as you browse the exhibition picking up clues just like our heroine Phryne to solve the ‘murder’ that’s occurred in the Rippon Lea house….good fun indeed!
